A row of ants on fire, a zoom on round pink buttocks, abstract dream shades or landscapes that might seem apocalyptic.
At a first and quick glance Support (which you find WHO) almost disorientates and fascinates at the same time, capable as it is of keeping us glued to its thick and smooth pages. There is apparently no uniformity of theme or technique, but that's the point.
Support magazine is a magazine entirely dedicated to drawing which aims not only to support talents (emerging and not), but also to highlight the richness and diversity of techniques that hide behind the illustrations.

In reality there is a common thread to tie the works, as its editors tell us who, in addition to working on the annual paper publication, every day present the works of illustrators from all over the world on instagram and on their website: the sense of pride that artists feel in creating and sharing their works.
In this second issue of Support, in fact, each of the 80 selected artists tells us the reasons for their artistic stylistic choices and also what it means for them to be proud of a work.

The magazine is a perfect hybrid of artist's book, magazine and art catalog: hard cover, large format that gives dignity to the illustrations contained within its pages, and Swiss binding that not only allows them to be opened at 180 degrees , but reveals all the beauty of a naked back (for true paper fetishists).

Two pages are dedicated to each artist, on the left side we find the work, while on the right, in the double Italian-French language, the artist tells his work, accompanying the intensity of the image to the power of the written word, as he does Gaadjika, who illustrates his personal interpretation of the months of lockdown, or Yann Le Bec who tells us in a few lines the satisfaction of seeing an illustration of him on the cover of a magazine.

If you love illustration, it is the perfect magazine to discover talents from all over the world and enter, through their words, in intimacy with them, but above all it is one of those magazines to leaf through and re-leaf through, without ever getting tired.
