How to check if you are an idiot or not is a Thai artisan zine made by the designer Silpee Kobkijwattana and by zine-makers Butter Cry.
It is a stand alone project with which the author apparently wants to interpret a common thought: why do people do things they shouldn't do? Why do people think they are "cool"? Inside we discover a fierce, ironic and very topical critique of capitalism and the Thai government. We read the joyful and clean anger, serene and tenacious of a young designer who lives very far from us in places we knew for the enchanting beaches and which today are massacred by a liberticidal government. When you pick up How to check if you are an idiot or not you must know that Silpee managed to print only a few dozen copies, after several months.

Paper has the power to play with history and also with current events. The zine as an object is a simple 36-page booklet contained in a case with ruler and tape to check if "you are an idiot" or not.
Its significance is not, in this case, in the editorial object, but rather in the project itself. The zine in this concept comes out of the common representation of magazines that we also find on Frab's, becoming an allegorical instrument of reality. An outlet that hides behind the playful mock irony that it pretends to tell.

We thought it was a nice project, then we realized it was a very loud cry.
