Why a book on Frab's? Because it is a book that has broad shoulders. Because to publish it is an editorial staff of magazines (we admit, this term doesn't exist and we just made it up). Because it is a book made up of many reportages as if it were a beautiful magazine. Because it is true.
After printing a magazine for about nine years, CTRL's editors took the plunge from periodical to (hopefully) eternal product and started making books. The Ultra Men is their second book and they describe it like this:
A book-reportage of close encounters with Italian terrestrials ranging ultra: starting with the manager of a funeral home in Mirandola, in the province of Modena, which provides hibernation services. Translated: freezes the corpses of the applicants and sends them to Russia in a specialized cryogenesis center (a practice legalized in that country), where the bodies will rest in silos, at minus 196 degrees, awaiting a "resurrection" through the intercession of technology.
And then reportage from a convent of cloistered nuns, from the bowels of the earth, from an operating room, from the house of a "village alien", from a bench on which a twenty-two-year-old cyborg sits, from a sitting room where a master of the Fourth Via drinks coffee, from a municipal office where a female wrestler works, from a conference of HSPs, from the bedroom of a thanatoesthete, from the beaches where a pensioner goes hunting for messages in a bottle.
