Balcony n.1

Balcony is an art magazine that distances itself from any art magazine you have ever read. Among its pages it collects conversations with and between artists who find themselves immersed in the gold of everyday life, whether it is a walk in Central Park, a jam session, a breakfast or a visit home.
Each issue contains a selection of dialogues reported as they occur, but also visual stories and original works of art.
Evading the conventions of both art criticism and the artist's profile, Balcony presents the artist's voice as its primary source, blurring the boundaries between the art world and the everyday.

ISSUE 1
The inaugural issue of Balcony contains ad hoc conversations and experiences involving a number of international artists, writers and curators, including:
- A day with Hamish Pearch and Francesca Gavin in Elephant & Castle.
- Françoise Grossen remembers her years in New York.
Robert Janitz and Zoë Lescaze take a stroll in Central Park.
- A musical history of Chile with Iván Navarro.
- Unpublished Polaroids by Jason Schmidt.
- A jam session in collaboration with Madeline Hollander and A.E. Benenson.
- Kayode Ojo and Jessica Kwok at Paul Rudolph's home.
- Ignacio Gatica and José Esparza Chong Cuy in Manhattan.
The first issue of Balcony also includes photo editorials made especially for the magazine by William Laird, Vicente Muñoz, Natalie O'Moore, Hamish Pearch, Oliver Hadlee Pearch, Jason Schmidt, Charlie Rubin and Tim Schutsky.
