Subsequence is a Japanese independent magazine that aims to discover the hidden stories of artisans and creatives from Japan and the world.
It was born as an experimental magazine with Japanese and international contributors who physically go to meet in every corner of the planet artisans in love with their works and creative suis generis who constantly remain out of the big circuits or glossy magazines.

Inside it is composed of photographs, stories and interviews that tell dozens and dozens of delicate lives and professions dedicated to the soul of objects made with the passion of man. It is not an art, design or architecture magazine, it is the magazine of the artisan in the house in love with his own ceramic creations, with the mechanic who looks after "his" cars like his children, with young artists who love to photograph and tell the story. today's world through fragments of unknown works, is the magazine of those who perform simple gestures on the street and, doing it with love, fills the world with a little more beauty.

The leap to the heart that this magazine gives is unleashed by the editorial format. Very light paper, slightly thicker than a sheet of newspaper, bound with maniacal precision with singer stitching and large format. A meticulous and fine print, clear images with a constantly opaque pattern that accompanies the whole magazine as if to symbolize the metaphor of the "hidden stories" of those who animate its contents.
The editorial layout often varies, experimenting and looking for different formulas that fit the spirit of the stories they must contain.
The magazine is "almost" yearly, depending on how far Japan and the world its contributors can travel.
The Japanese origin of this beautiful piece of publishing makes it a masterpiece of authenticity and uniqueness that allows it to carve out its own indefinable space in the categorization of beautiful magazines.

ISSUE 4 - SMALL TALK
The theme of the magazine's fourth issue, “Small Talk,” focuses on the importance of time and small moments, such as enjoying a short casual conversation with the people you love. Among its pages we find conversations without a definitive theme between creatives, artists and artisans, interviews and insights.

This issue of Subsequences is accompanied by a 24-page fashion insert, "This is the Life", edited by fashion designer Stephen Mann.
