Pfeil Magazine is the independent magazine of Montez Press, a publishing house specializing in artist's books based in London, New York and Hamburg.
Pfeil should be understood as a sort of curatorial space within which various artists are invited to reflect and work on a single word, the leitmotif of the entire magazine, which changes from issue to number. Combined, the contributions are transformed into an organic exposition that surrounds the leitmotif.
Within the format of a magazine, each page of Pfeil is therefore headed as the floor, walls or ceiling which together create an imaginary room in which a printed exhibition is displayed.

ISSUE 15 - Bread
From seeds to crumbs, this number focuses on the meaning of bread. One of the oldest human products, rooted in the dawn of agriculture and land settlement, its ingredients unite and divide, create winners and losers. We deal with madness and explosives, coincidences and intoxication, distribution and possession.
