Maize is the magazine of H-Farm, an innovation center born in Treviso in 2005 that hosts startups and advanced technological projects to which it supports and to which it allows to create networks to be launched on the market.

In short, H-Farm is the furthest away from a somewhat bohemian conception of independent magazines. But over the years, while working with big data, ether and touchscreens, he has not lost the sensitivity and importance of human contact for the development of everything online. And so it has circulated for years a houseorgan to be disseminated in its professional network, which has become a recognized dissemination tool within a narrow world of innovators and visionaries. At that point, what to do?

At this point it was evident the birth of a new object in the world of independent publishing. Something that emerged from the already furrowed grounds of travel, art, photography and became a magazine that reflected on the relationship between man, technology and progress in a very in-depth scientific key.

An unexplored panorama that deserves attention because it brings to paper an object with very rich contents, with leading authors who from the sixth edition wanted to become great and, with the help of the Art Director of H-Farm also very beautiful in design and graphic structure. A project that deserves recognition because talking about technology and innovation on paper is really difficult today and without real added value every project would be extinguished in the bud.

From the sixth edition, therefore, Maize becomes a magazine that comes out of the close circle of H-Farm and, completely redesigned in style, tries to peek out among the public and that's how we welcomed it from issue 7 to Frab's selection.

NUMBER 7 - TIME

Maize issue 7 is entirely dedicated to time. It is a multidisciplinary concentrate of in-depth professional contributions on this subject, deserving themselves the time and attention for an in-depth study. Printed in 1500 copies it is an intellectually independent magazine, a house organ that has raised funds for the sustainability of contents of the highest scientific depth

Here are the main ones, in the order you find them in the magazine:

The issue opens with the history of time and a photographic project dedicated to it by Weronica Gesica Traces and immediately reaches Greenwhich and the modern invention of the concept of time itself in a study by Riccardo Coluccini. Neuroscientist Moran Cerf describes how our brain perceives and organizes time from a scientific point of view. Matteo Bonazzi analyzes the different times of our conscious existence and of the unconscious, which has its own time maps and our inner part moves on them.

To enter the scientific world, the theoretical physicist Carlo Rovelli tells us the equation of time and the impossibility of fully understanding it by physicists, cosmologists and neuroscientists. In a conversation with the philosopher Emanuele Coccia an attempt is made to establish the different concept of time in the world of plants, which can last for centuries or only a few weeks in a plot that is difficult to decipher. Incredible images of aircraft accompany a reflection on the speed of our lives in modern times. The concept of different time even among men of different cultures is interesting: in the Amazon there is a group of humans who mark time in a completely revolutionary way.

Giovanni Soldini is one of the well-known names of this issue of Maize, who ventures into his solitary experiences on the seas to try to convey a different time that the relationship with a material such as water can give to man. Noteworthy is a study by Ornella Sinigaglia on how morning activities have changed our daily productivity, especially in Western society. Finally, an analysis of how video games today allow us to live a time not ours by sitting at our desks is inevitable.
